Good morning, Wildcats!!! Here are some important dates and times: August 1- Students report but will dismiss early at 10:30 AM. Buses will run. August 2&3- Full School Days August 4- Election Day/No School for students August 5-Full School Day August 5- Welcome Back Wildcats Open House from 5:00-7:00 PM. Families can tour the school and meet teachers.

PTO sponsored basketball training and open gyms are cancelled for the remainder of the summer due to vacations and appointments. Enjoy these last few days of summer with your families and keep practicing those skills on your own. Again, no training or open gym this month.

Niota supply lists and homeroom rosters will be posted on the front doors of the school after 6:00 PM today. All homerooms are final. We look forward to seeing our Wildcats on August 1.

There will not be any PTO sponsored basketball training or open gym this week (July 5-8) since many people will be traveling. Don't forget the YMCA is having summer camp at Niota this month 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM. Register on the YMCA website. We hope everyone has had a great Independence Day!

We are excited for improvements being made at Niota. Our carpeted rooms are getting brand new flooring and look amazing, and our bleachers are getting much needed repair. Due to bleacher repairs, our gym will be closed the remainder of this week. Basketball training and open gym are cancelled until repairs are completed. No basketball training or open gym the week of June 20-24.

Dear Families, we are working to improve our school by removing carpet and replacing it with beautiful new tile. This process does have a smell due to the adhesive they have to use. It is non-toxic. We have made arrangements to minimize any future exposure of our kids to the unpleasant smell.

All basketball training sponsored by the PTO is cancelled for tonight, June 14. Open gym will be Wednesday, June 15.

Just a reminder: PTO sponsored basketball trainings begin today 5:00-6:00 in the gym. These will take place each Tuesday and Thursday for $20/session. A portion of this goes directly to our PTO funds. Open gym for students who will be in grades 6-8 begins Wednesday, June 8, 5:00-6:00. This is free admission for those who wish to play basketball. You must pick your child up promptly at 6:00 each session.

Basketball open gym for boys and girls for grades 6-8th 5:00-6:00 at Niota gym. Starting the Wednesday of June 8th. Every Wednesday after that. PTO sponsored basketball trainings for both boys and girls starting June 7th (Tuesday) and the 9th (Thursday). Every Tuesday and Thursday following that. The cost for trainings is $20 for the hour per day. A portion of the cost will go to Niota PTO. Each training will be different.

Dismissal is at 10:30 today. Buses will run. If you check students out early, you will go to the front offices. Grade cards will not be handed out early. Early checkouts will need to pick up grade cards and items after 10:30 or during summer office hours. If students have missing textbooks or computer equipment, it will need turned in or paid for before you can get grade cards. Thank you for a great year. We will miss our Wildcats!!!

Unfortunately, due to poor weather conditions for Sunday the Niota Block Party will be cancelled. No block party Sunday, May 22. They hope to reschedule it as a back to school block party in the Fall. We will keep you updated.

2022 AWARDS Schedules May 23, 2022 Celebrations 9:00-11:00 8th grade graduation 1:30-2:30 K completion celebration May 24, 2022 Awards 8:30-9:30 Grades 6-7 9:45-11:00 Grades 3-5 11:15-12:30 Grades 1-2 *Siblings will not leave classes to attend awards times. Parents may check them out in the front office to allow them to attend awards under parent supervision. They would then need to check back in or leave with the parent.

Tuesday, May 17, from 3:45-5:00 basketball tryouts will take place in the gym for boys and girls currently in grades 5-7. Students must be picked up at 5:00. Boy's Coach: Jenna Adams Girls' Coach: Abriel Hardaway Go Wildcats!!!

Good Morning, Wildcats! Monday, May 16, Niota will have the Great Grade Swap. For this one day only each grade will get to move to the next grade to meet teachers, learn expectations, and preview what they will learn next Fall. We are excited for this. Our current 8th grade will help teachers with the new group or do school-based projects. We are excited for our Wildcats to have this opportunity.

Don't forget to visit our Science and History Museum tonight, May 13, from 5:00-7:00 to see the projects our 3rd-8th grade students have created. Concessions will be sold. 8th grade Graduation is May 23 at 9:00 in the gym. Kindergarten celebration is May 23 at 1:30 in the gym. 1st-7th Awards are May 24. Teachers will notify parents of times and if their child will receive an award on this day.

Please join us Friday, May 13, from 5:00-7:00 for our Science and History night. The students have worked hard on their projects and cannot wait for you to see them. Concessions will be sold.

Aloha Parents~ PTO is excited to announce a visit from Kona Ice of West Knoxville!! We will be having Kona Ice out to serve a delicious Hawaiian Ice on May 6th to raise money for our school. They will be donating 20% of their gross sales to us. We are including a link to an online portal where you may purchase a Kona for your child. There is also a menu choice for a "Pay it Forward" Kona. This is an option to purchase additional Konas for children who may not be able to afford one. These additional Konas are included in the fundraiser, and are so appreciated if you are able to do so. The online portal will close the day before our event so be sure to order now! You may also send cash on the day of the event. Tax is included in all prices.
